HISTORY
Carbery Acres has a 300+ year history linked to feudal kingdoms of the Himalayas & the East India Company. The Raja of Tehri Garhwal, in acknowledgement of the Powel family’s contribution to military action in support of the Kingdom, gifted a jagir (land gifted by the King) to the family. The Powel family were among the leading lights during those days of the early development of Dehradun & Mussoorie. The jagir stretched from near Saharanpur to Vikasnagar and included Kunja Grant
The homestay was established by the third generation of the family to share the peaceful beauty of the location with anyone seeking clean, fresh air, in the lap of mother nature. Located in the middle of a forty-acre Mango orchard, the homestay is surrounded by the Shivalik Range, with Sal & Teak reserve forests, the water-body of the Asan Wetlands Conservation Area – the only Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Uttarakhand and the majestic Himalayas that form the backdrop to the north of the property.
